It’s been a while since we’ve spoken formally, so I thought I’d give you guys an update on what’s going on over here!
Everything is going well over here in VoxPop land. We’re chugging along with our small team of 4 and making progress slowly but surely.
We’re up to version 1.4.2 and we’ve already come a long way from where we started. I like to think fondly on the first build we released and didn’t think about putting an auto-updater function in it, keeping us from being able to push bug fixes without making you guys download an updated version of the client manually.😅 Now we come out with an update with bug fixes and new features a few times a month.
I suppose you guys are interested in what’s coming down the pipe in the near future. Well, I can let you in on a few of the things we’re working on.
Firstly, we’re building out a system tool so that developers can edit how much of a game’s sale goes towards revenue share! We want to give developers as much control over their games as possible, so it’s something that’s been high on our priority list for a while.
Now that the client is finally in a state where we can start implementing things like that, we’re working on getting it out to everyone as soon as possible.
Another thing we’re working very hard on is getting our secure games packer ready to go out for developers to be able to upload, update, and modify their games on their own, rather than running it through myself and Marc. This is something we’ve been working on for a while because we just want to make sure it’s perfectly functional, easy to use, and most importantly - secure.
A big part of what makes VoxPop VoxPop is the peer-to-peer element. Rest assured- we’re still working on that diligently.
A system such as that takes time and care to build out properly and we want to make sure we get it right on the first go. Once we’re able to implement it, it will be much easier to accrue VoxCoins for the regular user and will also help us keep our costs down-- which means more development to get cool new features for all of you!
Speaking of VoxCoins, we should have the capability to use them in purchases implemented soon.
I know you guys have been building them up nicely (and will only build up faster, the more you recommend games to your friends and get them to join our movement!)
I think that’s all I have to share with you for now.
We're, of course, working to have plenty more features, but these latest updates will be here sooner than not.
As always, if you have any questions, be sure to drop on in to our Discord-- there’s always someone there (either myself, Marc (SalamiAttack), or our VP Streamer/Discord mod L1L_F3LL4) to answer questions you may have. And DON'T FORGET HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU. Truly, we really appreciate your support, feedback, and just being there for us. Thank you for taking this wild journey with us.
Bye bye for now. I hope you all have wonderful holidays and a super happy new year, because as we all know that it's time for 2020 to be put behind us.
